Our empathy skills are always growing and improving – this is such an important point. It’s a good reminder that even if you don’t feel like you have the best empathy now you are able to improve! As first-year university students, we may lack empathy now but be strong as all of us will improve! It’s important to discuss the factors that can influence our abilities to be empathetic as well (like difficult patient assignments etc.)

I found it really interesting about how infants first learn empathy through their mother or other caregiver. This enforces the idea that touch and warmth during the early stages of ones life is vital. I also found the study being preformed in Belgium to be intriguing! I like the idea of switching the roles from being the care giver to the care receiver.
I enjoyed the music and the flow of the slides π Great job!!!

The study being preformed in Belgium was also intriguing! The swapping of the roles from being the caregiver to the care recipient gives the students insight on what it is like to be in someone else’s shoes. I enjoyed the music and the flow of the slides!
